Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 August 2026

This page explains what information Plain Money collects, what it doesn't, and who handles your details when you buy the manual. It is written to be read, not to be impenetrable.

Who we are

Plain Money publishes Plain Money: The Amish Way to a Smaller Bill, a digital household savings manual, at plainmoneyliving.com. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Plain Money.

If you have a question about anything here, write to support@plainmoneyliving.com.

What this website collects

This website has no accounts, no sign-up form, no newsletter box and no comment section. We do not ask you to enter your name, your email address or any other personal detail in order to read it.

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is served — your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

Analytics and advertising

We use analytics and advertising tools to understand how people find and use this page, and to measure our advertising. These may include Google Analytics, Google Ads, the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel and similar services.

These tools set cookies or similar identifiers and may collect:

This information tells us whether our advertising is working. It does not tell us who you are. Each of these providers handles the data it collects under its own privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Opting out of these tools does not affect your ability to read the site or buy the manual.

When you buy the manual

We do not process payments ourselves and we never see your card details. Purchases are handled entirely by Payhip, our checkout and delivery provider.

When you buy, Payhip collects the information it needs to take payment and deliver the file — typically your email address, your payment details and the country you are buying from. Payhip processes that information under its own privacy policy and its payment processors' terms.

We receive a record of the sale, which includes your email address and what you bought. We use it to deliver the manual, to answer you if you contact us about your order, and to keep proper business records.

Email

We will email you about your order. We will not add you to a marketing list without your consent, and any marketing email we do send will have an unsubscribe link that works.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade or rent it to anyone.

We share information only with the service providers who make the site work — our host, Payhip and its payment processors, and the analytics and advertising providers named above — and where we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them to support the purchase and to meet tax and accounting requirements. Analytics data is retained according to each provider's own settings.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to support@plainmoneyliving.com and we will respond.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act. We will honour any right that applies to you.

Children

This site and the manual are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.

A note on the manual itself. Plain Money is a PDF you download and keep. It does not phone home, track your reading, or connect to anything. Once the file is on your device it is yours, and we have no visibility into how you use it.
