Terms & Refund Policy

These are the terms for buying and using Plain Money. Please read the refund section before you buy — it is short, and it matters.
Who we are
Plain Money publishes Plain Money: The Amish Way to a Smaller Bill, a digital household savings manual, at plainmoneyliving.com. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Plain Money. By buying or using the manual, you agree to what follows.
What you are buying
You are buying a single digital product: the complete 346-page Plain Money manual as a PDF file, containing 131 methods across 16 chapters, together with the Household Savings Audit, the 30-Day Challenge, the Savings Tracker and the reference material described on the site.
You are not buying a physical book, a subscription, a course, ongoing support, or any service. It is one file, bought once.
Delivery
Checkout and delivery are handled by Payhip. The download is made available to you after payment, and a link is sent to the email address you give at checkout.
Please enter that address carefully and check your spam folder if nothing arrives. If you have paid and cannot access the file, email support@plainmoneyliving.com and we will get it to you.
Refunds
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds on Plain Money.
Plain Money is a digital product. The moment you complete your purchase, the full manual is delivered and cannot be returned or un-downloaded. For that reason we do not offer refunds, exchanges or cancellations once a purchase is complete.
This is why the site shows you so much of what is inside before you buy — the page count, the chapter list, the method structure, worked examples and sample pages. Please make sure the manual is right for you before you order.
Two exceptions, because they are only fair:
- If the file will not download or is corrupted, tell us and we will send you a working copy. If we genuinely cannot deliver the product to you, we will refund you.
- If you were charged more than once for the same order, we will refund the duplicate.
Where the law of your country gives you a refund or cancellation right that cannot be waived, that law applies and nothing here removes it.

How you may use the manual
Your purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the manual for your own household. You may:
- read it on any device you own
- print pages for your own use — the audit, the challenge and the tracker are designed for it
You may not:
- share, resell, sublicense, rent or give away the file or your download link
- upload it to any website, file-sharing service, group or forum
- reproduce substantial parts of it in your own work, in any medium
- use it to create a derivative or competing product
The manual and everything in it — text, diagrams, photographs and layout — remain our copyright.
No guarantee of savings
Plain Money is general household information. It is not professional advice, and it contains no medical, health, legal or financial advice.
Every dollar figure in the manual is either a cited figure from a published source or an illustrative calculation with its assumptions shown, and it is always labelled which. Buildings, appliances, climates, utility tariffs and local regulations vary enormously. Nothing in the manual or on this site is a promise, prediction or guarantee that you will save any particular amount, or any amount at all.
You are responsible for deciding whether a method suits your home, your property and your abilities.
Safety
Every method in the manual carries a safety level, and a "Watch Out" section covering hazards and limits. Read both before starting any method.
The manual does not provide instructions for regulated or hazardous work. Electrical work beyond plugging in listed devices, gas work of any kind, refrigerant handling, structural alteration, regulated plumbing, combustion-appliance modification and roof work must be carried out by appropriately licensed professionals. Check your local codes and the manufacturer's instructions before you begin, and follow the manufacturer where they differ from anything in the manual.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury or expense arising from the use or misuse of the manual or this website. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Independence
Plain Money is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any Amish community, organization or church district, nor by any government agency, manufacturer, retailer or brand named within it. Organizations cited in the manual are named solely to identify published sources of factual information and have not reviewed or endorsed it.
This website
We may change the site, the manual or its price at any time. Changing the price does not entitle you to a refund of the difference on a purchase already made.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published at the time you bought.
